Hiren V. Majmudar is a vice president at Intel Corporation and the managing director for platform, system-on-chip (SoC), intellectual property (IP) and compute technologies at Intel Capital. He leads the team responsible for strategic transactions spanning technology licensing, equity investments, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and other external activities related to platform, SoC and semiconductor IP to support the development of innovative solutions by Intel’s Platform Engineering Group. The group designs SoCs for the data center, desktop, laptop, tablet, smartphone and Internet of Things (IoT) market segments. Majmudar also serves as a voting member of Intel Capital’s investment committee.

A managing director at Intel Capital since 2016, Majmudar joined Intel in 1993 as an engineer specializing in electronic design automation (EDA) applications. He left in 2006 to serve as senior director of field operations at Magma Design Automation Inc., rejoining Intel in 2008. During his two-decade career at Intel, Majmudar has held various engineering and business leadership roles in CPU design, EDA, software development tools, SoC engineering, technical marketing, technology licensing and M&A. Since 2011, Majmudar has led teams that identified unique technology partners for Intel and built strategic relationships with more than 50 IP companies to successfully enable more than 70 SoC chip designs for the server, client, mobile, IoT and wearables market segments.

Majmudar earned his bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in India and his master’s degree in electrical engineering from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. A robotics coach for more than a decade, he serves on the board of FIRST in Texas, an organization that promotes robotics education for underprivileged children in the state.
