Jayesh Kotecha
Senior Principal Staff
Jayesh Kotecha is a Senior Principal Staff with Digital Networking, NXP Semiconductors, where he drives the wireless algorithms and modem design teams in various technologies including Wifi, 4G and 5G. With expertise in wireless communications and signal processing, Dr. Kotecha has been a passionate innovator for 17+ years in wireless modems and algorithms, digital front end, software defined radio, multi-protocol architectures and end-to-end PHY protocol design including Wifi 11ax, 3GPP 4G and 5G, where he has some key technology contributions. He has also been the lead representative for Freescale in 3GPP LTE RAN1/PHY standards body for over 3 years.
Dr. Kotecha received a Ph.D in Electrical Engineering from Stony Brook University in 2001. He worked as a post-doctoral candidate and Research Faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 2002-2004, and since then worked with Motorola, Freescale Semiconductor and NXP. He has been issued 70+ US Patents (all currently owned by Apple), was awarded the Master Innovator Award in 2014 and the ‘Best Patent of the Year Award’ in 2011 in Freescale, and his patent # 7702029 was cited by Intellectual Asset Management Magazine in March-April 2013 issue as one of top 5 of all patents owned by Apple. Dr. Kotecha has over 30 publications in IEEE Journals and Conferences, and was recognized with the “2007 IEEE Best Paper Award for Signal Processing Magazine” by the IEEE Signal Processing Society for his contributions to Particle Filtering.
