Jenell Moffett

Director, Research and Analysis

Jenell Moffett is the Director of Research and Analysis for the Downtown Austin Alliance. She leads economic, demographic, geographic, and market research and analysis efforts in Downtown Austin.

Jenell is in charge of the Alliance’s Strategic Research Agenda, which includes an analysis of the economic office, retail, hotel, and residential markets, demographic profiles and trends, mobility, development, investment, land use, parks, and safety. She is currently spearheading efforts around key performance indicators for understanding economic trends for downtown Austin. This work is in collaboration with public and private subject matter experts and industry leaders and includes trend analysis, benchmarking, and comparative analysis. She is also responsible for setting key performance indicators, tracking and reporting progress towards those goals.

Jenell began with the Downtown Austin Alliance in March of 2016.  She manages the implementation and maintenance of systems for data management and integration.  She also directs multiple research projects in order to support economic development, planning, and advocacy efforts. Over the last year, Jenell has successfully implemented data tools within the organization to improve business processes and enhance efficiency, including the deployment of an organization-wide asset and relationship management database, business intelligence analytic and reporting tool, organization-wide map portal, and an online public engagement platform. She is an active member of Austin CityUp and serves on the leadership team for Smart2nd Street, serves on the planning committee for ICMA’s Big Ideas 2018 Conference and is an active member in ULI.

Prior to her work with the Downtown Alliance, Jenell worked for the City of Austin for over 10 years.  During her time there, she worked as an Engineering Associate with Austin Water Utility and a Senior Business Systems Analyst with the Office of Sustainability.  Jenell has her Bachelor’s degree in Urban Studies from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master’s in Business Administration from Concordia University Texas-Austin.
